Wildlings Grand Howl

Welcome to our first update!

We are using this space to update you on whats going on in the world of Yorkshire Wildlings. We hope you find it informative…

Farewell to Bulcliffe (for now!):

Sunday 10th November saw our last Birthday party in Bulcliffe Woods, which we have used continually since we opened in 2023. Thank you to Helen and Joey for choosing us to host Joeys 2nd party with us - we hope to make it a 3rd next year!
Over the winter, the owning timber merchant are moving around the woods, and will be felling timber. As we are unable to use the woods whilst they are working, we are temporarily saying goodbye to Bulcliffe until after February. This also will give the remainder of the site chance to rest and recover too!

Wish GRANTed from the Alpkit Foundation:

We are thrilled to report that Yorkshire Wildlings was successful in obtaining grant money from the Alpkit Foundation!

The Alpkit Foundation helps people Go Nice Places Do Good things. We were successful in securing grant money to replace and buy new canopies for our camp attendees and School children to sit under. These products are on their way to us, and we will be reporting back to the Foundation with a report after our next camp, which we will share with you too.

Team Updates:

We were saddened to announce that Freya, will be leaving us to pursue a Childcare apprenticeship. Whilst we wish her all the best, we will miss her, but we recommended her highly to the apprenticeship. Freya would like to pass on that she will miss everyone, and we known that this sentiment will be returned by all our children.

Freya joined Yorkshire Wildlings just before Christmas of last year, having come for a four week taster program with the Heart of Yorkshire College, and seemed to - well, never leave!

Freya’s apprenticeship will keep her busy in the week, but we hope that work permitting, we may be able to steal her back for the odd party and weekend experience.

Welcome to Amelia!

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Amelia to the team. Amelia is our youngest team member, currently working with Tom in their Scout Troop. Tom was impressed with how welcoming and engaging Amelia was, especially with our younger children whilst on camp as an attendee and after a trial, and ensuring that her parents were on board, Tom has welcomed her into the team as our newest Play Leader and Forest School Assistant.
