We have a shelter for our fire circle where you can dry off and warm up.

  • There is ample parking on both sites.

At Woolley Edge, the campsite is accessed by a single track road. Please give way to cars coming down the road, and be aware that the track has a slight drop at each side. There are no passing places on the track and we may hold traffic leaving site.

  • A strong pair of walking shoes or boots is ideal, as are wellies (Please remember your socks)

The weather can turn at any moment, so we recommend all participants bring a coat and a warm top.

We advise that all participants wear long trousers, to protect against nettles, brambles and stings.

In summer we strongly recommend loose clothing, with a sun hat.

We can provide suncream, but cannot apply it to any child.

  • At this time, we regret that we cannot easily provide access for wheel chairs, given the uneven terrain. Please contact us for further information.

  • Forest School is a child-centred inspirational learning process that supports play, exploration and supported risk taking. It develops confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in a natural setting.

Forest School has a developmental ethos shared by thousands of trained practitioners around the world, who are constantly developing their learning styles and skills to support new and imaginative learners. Its roots reach back to the open-air culture, friluftsliv, or free air life, seen as a way of life in Scandinavia where Forest School began. It arrived in the UK in 1993 and has grown from strength to strength since then.
